How Do I Apply?
You can apply for Kentucky Medicaid in a few different ways. Pick whichever works best for you: online, by phone, in person, or by mail.
The fastest way is online at kynect, Kentucky’s official benefits website. You can create an account, fill out the application, and upload your documents from your phone or computer.
You can also apply by phone. Call the Department for Community Based Services, or DCBS, at 855-306-8959. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, call 800-648-6056.
Prefer to apply in person or by mail? Visit your local DCBS office for help filling out the form. Or print an application from kynect and mail it to your local DCBS office.
You do not have to do this alone. Free helpers called kynectors can walk you through the application at no cost.
Before you start, gather a few things: proof of income, a photo ID, Social Security numbers for your household, and basic household information. Having these ready can speed up the process.
